KwaZulu-Natal Growth Fund Agency Announces Appointment of New Board
Durban – The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) has appointed a new Board of Directors for the KwaZulu-Natal Growth Fund Agency (KZNGFA), underscoring the province’s commitment to driving investment, infrastructure development, and inclusive economic growth.
The newly appointed Board members are:
• Mr Jabulani Walter Khanyile – Chairperson
• Dr Usha Roopnarain – Deputy Chairperson
• Mr Bongani Mzwakhe Mhlongo – Member
• Dr Sakhile Keith Mpungose – Member
• Ms Linda Ngcobo – Member
• Dr Sihle Ndlovu – Member
• Mr Linda Mpumelelo Sidaki – Member
• Ms Tshidi Ikaneng – Member (Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ex Officio)
This Board succeeds the outgoing Board led by Dr Cassius Lubisi, which played a pivotal role in guiding the Agency’s transition into a provincial public entity.
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Reverend Musa Zondi, welcomed the appointments, noting their strategic importance: “The appointment of this Board strengthens KwaZulu-Natal’s development finance capability and positions the Agency to unlock investment, support job creation and drive inclusive economic growth,” said the MEC.
The MEC also expressed gratitude to Dr Lubisi and the outgoing Board: “We also acknowledge the valuable
contribution made by the outgoing Board in establishing a strong foundation for the Agency.”
The New Board is expected to provide strategic oversight, strengthen governance and support the
implementation of priority investment programmes across the province.
