Based on the KZN province's aggressive Growth and Development Strategy, there is a strong correlation between the province's access to infrastructure and its economic growth rate. This has resulted in a far greater need for investment opportunities in financing infrastruture and related projects.  With the expected rise in the development, expansion and restructuring of infrastructure and related projects, the KZN Growth Fund (Growth Fund) has been developed and established by the Provincial Government to finance medium to large scale infrastructure and related projects throughout the KwaZulu-Natal Province, the Growth Fund is an innovative initiative aimed at creating:

• sustainable economic development;
• job creation;
• broad based black economic empowerment.

FUND PARTICIPANTS

The Growth Fund is a R1.1billion long term debt fund, structured as a unique Public-Private Partnership between the KZN  provincial government, the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Standard  Bank Limited and the Infrastructure Finance Corporation (INCA).
